We are an Anglo-Japanese ‘husband-and-wife’ team based in Tokyo, comprising a native-born English speaker and a bi-lingual Japanese ‘life-and-manner’ coach with over 60 years international experience between us. UNIQUELY VISUAL

We use a simple yet innovative audio-visual based course & practice book series (from a world leading publisher), covering ESL needs from beginner to advanced and from personal to business use, dealing with the key aspects of reading, speaking, listening, writing, vocabulary & grammar.

BLENDED FOCUS

We take an ’80/20’ approach to learning smarter & becoming fluent faster, by using both books & audio-visual resources, as well as SRS flashcards, educational games, role-play & much more. The course is aligned to the International CEFR standard as well as TOEIC, TOEFL, and IELTS examinations.

MORE CHOICE

We offer a range of services along with ‘focused’ or ‘intensive’ coaching. We aim to provide a more meaningful ESL teaching experience to quickly achieve confidence boosting results by either our ‘focused’ (one-teacher-one student) approach or the more ‘intensive’ (two teachers-one-student) option.

English is a constantly evolving language. We continually update an extensive collection of the best ESL ‘world-wide-web’ resources covering literature, news & current affairs, general knowledge, magazine articles and more. We share these by print or electronic media as part of bespoke lesson plans.

We specialise in teaching ‘polite’ persuasive and characterful English with a deep understanding of its cultural aspects to help you shine on an international stage … why settle for ‘persuasion’ when you can also ‘convince’.

FLEXIBLE SCHEDULING

We understand that time is the most valuable resource we all possess & in a busy modern life it is difficult to ‘find the time’. Therefore we use a flexible & efficient lesson delivery using 20 minute teaching modules ranging from 40 minute to 180 minute sessions.

SPARKLING CONVERSATION SKILLS

This is our core ESL offering which is suitable for individuals, couples & small groups. We offer ‘confidence coaching in language and manner’ for ESL students (young or old), preferably intermediate level (B1) & above, (but we teach all CEFR levels).

ACCOMPLISHED BUSINESS COMMUNICATIONS

The essential topics needed in the business world, covering interviews, job applications, email etiquette, meetings, negotiations, business entertaining, presentation techniques, telephone manner and more. We also offer bespoke solutions to suit more specific scenarios requested by business clients.

SELF-ASSURED PRESENTATION SKILLS

This course is delivered by two tutors (language & manner) for either personal or business use. It is more than just language skills, we teach content design, body language & the other necessary skills to create engaging presentations for a modern international world (our language tutor has a 30+ year international experience in architecture & design)

SPECIALIST EDITING & REVISION SERVICES

A confidential and knowledgable proofreading service for professionals, academics and authors with the express aim to improve the quality and accuracy of your documents making English seem like your first language. For security we use ’end-to-end’ encrypted electronic file sharing.

APPRAISAL & FEES

Before we offer prospective clients any tuition, we carry out a face-to-face appraisal to establish that we are a ‘good fit’, along with ‘proficiency testing’ to establish an ESL student’s CEFR level, so that our tuition proposal is tailored to their requirements.

We understand that language acquisition depends on a number of factors … What is your motivation to learn English? What exposure to English have you already had? Do you already speak a ‘second language’? What time & budget can you dedicate to learning English?

You should know that the average international student takes around 200 hours to complete a CEFR level, so the more you study in your own time, the less time you need to ‘spend in class’ … of course there is no substitute for the benefit of face-to-face contact with a native English tutor.

FEES

Our individually tailored tuition fees are competitively priced, gimmick-free & clearly detailed in our tuition contract proposal. They are based on a ‘per person’ & ‘per hour’ basis (+/- 60 minutes is priced pro-rata). All fees shown exclude tax.
